Meier
Link is the vampire lord that “steals” Charlotte away from her father and brother.
While at the beginning of the movie we see him as the villain after a time we
see that he’s not such a bad guy. Not really villain material. He comes
across an invitation from the vampire queen Carmilla, asking them to join her
at her castle.
Meier
fell in love with Charlotte and plans to take her away to the
City of the Night where they can be free to live and love each other. After
he finds that Charlottes family had sent out two teams of
vampire hunters he gains the protection of the Barborois to keep him, and
Charlotte, safe.
His
love for Charlotte seems to be truly genuine, as he
proves in several scenes, including one where he fights through the burning
rays of the sun just to try and stop the Markus brothers from taking her.
He
fights with the need for blood, refusing to drink from her, posing quite a
task in several scenes.
As a
vampire he is quite strong. His two weapons include his cape, which
transforms into a pair of razor sharp bat wings, and a strange claw on his
hand, which retracts on command.
